  2. Principles of data protection and applicable terminology.
  3. Lawful bases for processing personal data.
  4. Governance and accountability of data protection within organisations.
  5. Interaction between Controllers and Processors, and the role of third parties.
  6. Transfers of personal data to third countries or international organisations.
  7. Data Subject Rights.
  8. The role of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and Independent Supervisory Authorities (ISAs).
  9. Breaches, enforcement, and liability.
  10. Processing of personal data concerning children.
  11. Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations (PECR) 2003.

This course will be delivered by an expert NobleProg trainer approved by BCS.

The price covers the delivery of the full course syllabus by an approved BCS trainer and the BCS Practitioner Data Protection exam. The exam can be taken remotely at your convenience and is invigilated centrally by BCS. Subject to successfully passing the exam (multiple choice, requiring a score of at least 65%) participants will hold the accredited BCS Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection.

Requirements

It is advantageous to possess the BCS Foundation Certificate in Data Protection, although it is not a mandatory requirement.

We strongly recommend that candidates attend an accredited training course and are thoroughly familiar with the GDPR, the syllabus content, and any recommended reading specified in the syllabus.
