Course Outline
Module 1: Overview & Architecture
Gain an understanding of the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and the core components of the Finance and Operations (FO) software. This includes describing the D365FO architecture and identifying key design and deployment considerations.
Module 2: Developer Tools
Learn to manage system implementations through Lifecycle Services and customize D365FO using Visual Studio. Additionally, cover the management of source code and artifacts via version control, along with utilizing other essential development tools for task completion.
Module 3: Solution Design
Identify the necessary application stack components and server architecture. This module covers implementing Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and designing comprehensive solutions for D365FO.
Module 4: AOT Elements
Master the creation of forms and tables, as well as the ability to extend existing ones. You will also learn to create Extended Data Types (EDT) and enumerations, build classes, and extend other Application Object Tree (AOT) elements.
Module 5: Code Development & Testing
Develop proficiency in writing X++ and object-oriented code. This section focuses on extending D365 FO functionality, understanding test frameworks, and executing unit tests to ensure code quality.
Module 6: Data Migration
Explore migration tools and methodologies while planning an effective migration strategy. The module concludes with preparing data for migration and performing Data Export/Import operations using Data Entities.
Module 7: Frameworks
Learn to implement core D365 FO functionality by utilizing built-in frameworks.
Module 8: Integration
Identify data integration patterns and scenarios, and implement integration concepts and solutions. Key topics include setting up recurring integrations, connecting D365FO with Microsoft Azure, troubleshooting integration errors, and utilizing the Data Management Package API.
Module 9: Reporting
Understand the capabilities and limitations of reporting tools in D365FO. You will design, create, and refine Dynamics Reports and workspaces, as well as data sources that connect to external data stores.
Module 10: Security & Performance
Apply performance tools and LCS Environment Monitoring to describe and optimize system performance. This module covers implementing role-based security policies, applying fundamental performance optimization techniques, and enhancing the performance of batch processes, user interfaces, integrations, and reports, including an exploration of Async & Sandbox Functionality.
